چکیده

In this paper we are interested in the well-posedness of a class of fully coupled forward-backward SDE (FBSDE) in which the forward drift coefficient is allowed to be discontinuous with respect to the backward component of the solution. Such an FBSDE is motivated by a practical issue in regime-switching term structure interest rate models, and the discontinuity makes it beyond any existing framework of FBSDEs. In a Markovian setting with non-degenerate forward diffusion, we show that a decoupling function can still be constructed and that it is a Sobolev solution to the corresponding quasilinear PDE. As as a consequence we can then argue that the FBSDE admits a weak solution in the sense of [2] and [29]. In the one-dimensional case, we further prove that the weak solution of the FBSDE is actually strong, and it is pathwisely unique. Our approach does not use the well-known Yamada-Watanabe Theorem, but instead follows the idea of Krylov for SDEs with measurable coefficients.

Auxiliary Sdes for Homogenization of Quasilinear Pdes with Periodic Coefficients

We study the homogenization property of systems of quasi-linear PDEs of parabolic type with periodic coefficients, highly oscillating drift and highly oscillating nonlinear term. To this end, we propose a probabilistic approach based on the theory of forward–backward stochastic differential equations and introduce the new concept of " auxiliary SDEs. " 1. Introduction and assumptions.

Weak Solutions of Forward-Backward SDEs and Their Uniqueness

In this paper we propose a new notion of Forward-Backward Martingale Problem (FBMP), and study its relationship with the weak solution to the backward stochastic differential equations. The FBMP extends the idea of the well-known (forward) martingale problem of Stroock and Varadhan, but it is structured specifically to fit the nature of a forward-backward stochastic differential equation (FBSDE...

On Weak Approximation of Stochastic Differential Equations with Discontinuous Drift Coefficient1

In this paper, weak approximations of multi-dimensional stochastic differential equations with discontinuous drift coefficients are considered. Here as the approximated process, the Euler-Maruyama approximation of SDEs with approximated drift coefficients is used, and we provide a rate of weak convergence of them. Finally we present a rate of weak convergence of the Euler-Maruyama approximation...

Representation of Solutions to Bsdes Associated with a Degenerate Fsde

In this paper we investigate a class of decoupled forward–backward SDEs, where the volatility of the FSDE is degenerate and the terminal value of the BSDE is a discontinuous function of the FSDE. Such an FBSDE is associated with a degenerate parabolic PDE with discontinuous terminal condition. We first establish a Feynman–Kac type representation formula for the spatial derivative of the solutio...
